Reagan turns seven next month which magically coincides with being chosen by Disney and Mom Select to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration! I’m thrilled to get the chance to write about how we show our Disney Side using this new inspirational website, our Disney Side Home Celebration Kit, and what we can come up with on our own. It’s all coming together for Reagan’s Mickey Mouse-themed, 7th birthday party in just a few weeks!
Our Disney @ Home Celebration Kit arrived on Wednesday while we were in the middle of a move. It was literally delivered as the movers were packing the last of our boxes into the truck. I made sure this box was set aside in the front of the truck so it wouldn’t get mixed up with the rest of our moving boxes.
Because we had so much going on, we had to wait until Friday to open it (the suspense was KILLING me!), and look at what we found when we did…
First, we pulled out a beautiful new piece of luggage from American Tourister, the Official luggage of Walt Disney World and Disneyland. It’s a 20″ Spinner and is the perfect size for Reagan, who is ready to move up from her trusted Trunki, to her first BIG GIRL luggage. Check out how easy it is for Reagan to maneuver and carry in this little video we made together:
Then, inside the luggage were our party supplies, recipes and games for up to 10 people, featuring our favorite Disney characters: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Donald Duck. And of course they included a Disney Parks Planning DVD which Reagan had to pop in and watch right away. Spring Break is right around the corner, so why not?
Hewlett Packard even included photo card packs so we can take photos at the party, print them on a color printer at home and hand them out. Our plan is to have a photo album craft the kids can decorate and then can put their first photo in it at the party.
Take a look at the cool website HP put together too, that lets you choose pre-formatted cards with gift cards included that you can print at home: TwoSmiles.com. We’ll be using our card packs for this in the future as well!
My favorite part of the kit are the 10 classic Mickey and Minnie posters that were included for our guests. Can’t wait to have one framed and hung on the wall in Reagan’s room. The rest will become prizes.
Because we plan to have a lot more guests, we went to Party City and Walmart to supplement for the decorations, goodie bags and more.
I’ve started two Pinterest boards to gather party ideas on everything from cute Mickey cupcakes to craft projects for the kids/guests. You can follow me and my boards here: #DisneySide Birthday Party Ideas and My #DisneySide.
But first, be sure to check out the Disney-themed celebration ideas at DisneySideCelebrations.com – a great place to start no matter what type of party you’re hosting!
Now it’s time to get those invitations in the mail! The party is going to be here before we know it!
