Storia Makes Bedtime Stories a Breeze on the Road

Have you discovered Storia yet? If Scholastic Readers arrive home in your kid’s backpack, you might have noticed the bright blue cloud on the back introducing the new ebooks by Scholastic. You can download the Storia app to your PC, iPad or Android tablet for free, and it comes with five FREE ebooks!

Storia Reader

Storia logoThis was just what we needed as we’re often on the road and packing books to bring along for bedtime was just not ideal. Besides the extra bulk they add to your bag, they’re easy to accidentally leave behind. Here’s hoping Housekeeping enjoys Curious George and Fancy Nancy, because we’ve left a few in hotel rooms across America.

Now, Reagan can choose the book she wants from her Storia bookshelf on our iPad, and listen to the Storia app read the book to her as she turns the pages and reads along. Fun learning activities are available to do along the way to further her vocabulary, comprehension and spelling skills. She never passes up an opportunity to take the challenge. I love enjoying the book with her and watching her learn.

Now, when the Scholastic Reader comes home, I pick out a few ebooks in addition to paper books when I order online. That way, we will always have fresh new reading material ready for our next big adventure.

Storia includes:

  • Learning activities-to enhance growth with helpful games
  • Read-to-me books-to create interactive experience
  • A dictionary-to comprehend the content
  • Highlighter and note-takers-to pinpoint the important information
  • Personalized Book Shelves- to organize each child’s reading levels
  • Private parent settings-to ensure your child is progressing with reading

Storia® has been recognized by Warren Buckleitner with the  “Editor’s Choice Award” as “the top” children’s ebook app in Children’s Technology Review, named one of the “Top 10 Best High Tech Products of 2012” by Dr. Toy, and has received glowing reviews in The New York Times and School Library Journal.

Storia®  ebooks can be purchased through The Scholastic Store online or Scholastic Book Clubs.

Though I still love navigating through the pages of a real book, the thought of using ebooks has crossed my mind. It’s quite practical when traveling, you can store hundreds of books so you’ll never run out of entertainment, and education.
