Ring, Ring, Ring! It’s the North Pole Calling!

Santa makes a phone call

There are many great things about living in the digital age. One of them, is the ability to use Santa to your benefit in ways our parents never could. Of all the fun ways to mess with the kids and keep them in line for at least one month out of the year, Portable North Pole is my favorite. Santa sent Reagan her first personal video message in 2009, and every year she can’t wait to hear from him again. Last year was fun, because she started to put together that the Santa she had her picture taken with looked very different from the Santa in the video. We found a way to explain the difference, but it made us realize, we need to start stepping up our game.

PNP has the perfect solution. A personal phone call from Santa. I employed this tactic today when our little angel wasn’t acting so angelic. Reagan got a personal phone call from the North Pole. When my phone rang, I announced it was the North Pole calling! Her eyes got real wide. We answered on speaker phone and the operator from the North Pole patched us through to Santa. Reagan and Santa exchanged hello’s, and then Santa asked if she knew why he was calling?

“No,” Reagan said. But, you could tell by the look on her face she knew she was in trouble.

Santa went on to explain that it seemed she hadn’t been behaving as well as she could lately, and he hadn’t yet been able to put her on his Nice List. Reagan’s eyes, got really wide at that. “She was a big girl now, and more was expected of her,” he said. But, there was still time between now and Christmas Eve, so she could still turn things around!

Then, Santa had to go as Mrs. Clause was calling him for his snack.

After the call, we talked about what Reagan could do to make Santa happy, and her parents too. One of the things we talked about, was CLEANING HER ROOM! Ugh. The bane of my existence.

Santa Clause from PNPA premium video where Santa’s elves sing Reagan a personalized song, and there are even more special scenes than last year’s video, is waiting for her. She always watches her videos from Santa over and over again, and this one she is really going to love. The only thing keeping me from delivering it? A little change in attitude. PNP let’s you decide whether your child is on the naughty or nice list, or somewhere in between. Considering Reagan was on the naughty list as of today, I’m going to give her a week to make it to the Nice List, which Santa will announce she has made it to in her video. Even though he also says, she needs to keep working on doing better!

I imagine Santa will continue to send Reagan video messages, and now phone calls every year. Or, at least until the magic is gone. Praying it’s going to be a long, long time!
